Stuart Murphy is an author who writes many intriguing math books about topics like fractions, timelines, place value, division, addition, subtraction,and geometry. Due to weather delays, all Title 1 teachers will continue kindergarten registration on Monday.
Third thru sixth grade will be taking the PSSA Reading and Math tests on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Remember, the more you practice, the better your student will become.

If you are baking cookies for Christmas, use this experience to relate reading and math to real life situations. Read the directions together and then begin gathering the ingredients and have your child help measure the ingredients. When placing the cookies on the tray in rows, calculate how many cookies by using multiplication skills( length x width).
Older students can use percentages and other math skills to figure sale prices for Christmas gifts and total amount of money spent.

Monday is the final day to purchase at the Book Fair. Tuesday and Wednesday Title 1 Math students will be taking a pretest. Students in sixth grade period 1 will be practicing mean, median , and mode. Sixth graders in period 4 will be learning about the order of operations. Fourth graders will be working on addition problems with missing addends. Third graders in Mrs. Laudeman's class will be doing addition and subtraction story problems. Have a great week!

We are off to a great start! 95% of my homeroom children returned all the beginning of the year forms the second day of school. Hats offs to the parents for filling the forms in a timely fashion. You earned an A+ in my book. I appreciate everyones cooperation. It makes my job a lot easier.
This week for P.S.S.A. Reading we will be studying about synonyms and antonyms. All work will be done in class. For P.S.S.A. Math we are still working on place value.
